Fall has arrived, and the color ORANGE is everywhere. But for the month of September, the color orange signifies far more importance than just the autumn season. The color orange represents the No Kid Hungry campaign to end child hunger in America!
It is difficult to swallow that there are children everyday in our own country, the United States of America, that go hungry on a regular basis. In fact, 1 in 5 children in America go hungry! As a mother, I cannot imagine my child going without food, and it breaks my heart to think that any child would go hungry.
No child should ever grow up hungry. In honor of this effort to end childhood hunger in America, I have put together a signature orange smoothie for the month of September called “Carrot Mango Goodness!” This smoothie represents a reminder to help end childhood hunger in America because it can be solvable!!
Carrot Mango Goodness:
- 1/2 cup Frozen Banana
- 1/2 cup Green Apple peeled
- 1/3 cup Mango peeled
- 1 cup Carrot
- 1 tsp Local honey
Blend together using a high powered blender. I used the NutriBullet (R) until thoroughly blended and pureed to smoothie consistency.
There are many ways to help support this hunger campaign and end childhood hunger.
