New Year….Fresh You!

Happy 2019 and a New YEAR to everyone! I love this time of year, a time to rest, reset, and refresh life after a full year and holiday season. This season is a great time to reflect into the new year and all the fresh starts you plan to strive for and implement. I personally love to map out big and small goals with good intentions and motivation to always be a working progress never striving for perfection. Taking one small step of healthy change a day will keep all of those goals less overwhelming and easier to stick to verses trying to tackle everything at one time.

Since it’s a new year and most have health at top of mind I thought I would provide you with some refrigerator inspiration since creating long term health and wellness starts with what is in our home. This week I started the new year with a colorful fruit and vegetable haul. Eating a plant forward diet and creating a rotation of healthy foods in the home can really help jumpstart the year in a healthy direction. I thought it would be helpful to see what is in our healthy home rotation this week plus fresh produce picking tips. During the winter months some fruits and vegetables can be difficult to find but always keeping these tips in mind when grocery shopping will hopefully help. Don’t be afraid to venture into the frozen isle if the fresh produce is looking puny, if the produce is simply frozen without any additives it is very close to the nutritional value if not better then the fresh over in the produce isle. How can this be?? When produce is picked or harvested and immediately frozen the fresh nutrients are also preserved at peek level. Let’s take a peek at 6 easy produce picking tips to keep our home plant forward, full of diverse nutrients, and healthy in this new year! May we all start this year fresh and full of wellness!
